A complete off-day in that match. Weird feeling to be in the Feyenoord stadium with 50,000 people to watch an away match on big screens while the game is being played just a few miles at the other side of the city Rotterdam knowing that stadium was also crowded for 90% with Feyenoord fans. I'm absolutely delighted today will be a home match in which we are unbeaten all season so far (14 wins and 2 draws).

Our first championship title since 1999 thanks to manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst who last year won the Dutch Cup in his first managing year. Can't imagine any other result than a win today...but Feyenoord stays Feyenoord despite at the top all season long . Anyway I'm off to the stadium to hopefully not come back home early tonight

I'm sure Aberdeen fans would cheer for us today since they will be qualified for EL QR2 instead QR1 next year if we become champions.

Congratulations to Feyenoord...a well deserved triumph. On the other side of Rotterdam on Sunday, Sparta manager Alex Pastor gave a characteristically thoughtful post-match verdict following his side’s 3-1 win away over Go Ahead Eagles which saw the Spartans*stay up, albeit on goal difference.

The manager said: ”This is on all fronts a massive relief that we have managed to stay in the Eredivisie without the need for relegation play-offs.

"Internally we have always remained calm. I must compliment the players who began this league with very little experience and they managed to perform well.

"It appears that we have performed a miracle in managing to escape the drop. We have played reasonably stable football over the entire season and given a good account of ourselves ”.

No one gave a better account of themselves than Alex Pastoor. Surely few would dispute that in the last eighteen months he has not only improved Sparta but has also enhanced his own reputation.

Thanks Hams. Hattrick from Dirk Kuyt (who started because of a suspension from Vilhena) who has announced he retires from professional football. First goal after 40 seconds

Some pics I made before and after the match

                Thanks for the pics Rinaldo
It was sad to hear about Dirk Kuyt retiring from football.
He will always be fondly remembered by Liverpool fans in England.
